UPDATE 2018 - THIS PATTERN HAS BE RE-RELEASED UNDER THE NEW NAME... MUSKOKA!
It's Day 2 of my series showing you all the new options for my Autumn Grace fleece dress, and it's a GREAT one! This option can be added to the dress or the tunic length, and it adds a ton of functionality. Are you ready for it? Inseam pockets!
Kids LOVE pockets. There are a lot of ways you can add pockets to this pattern and I thought about many different types. Kangaroo, circle, bucket, and various kinds of patch pockets. I decided though that what I really wanted was the smooth look of inseam pockets so the fitted shape and flare of the original design is preserved. It was hard to settle on only one kind of pocket though!... so I absolutely encourage you to take creative liberties and add other kinds of pockets of your own!
(And yes, in case you are wondering, the version shown here is also revealing another of the options from the new Expansion Pack, the sleeveless... but, shhh... I'll tell you more about that tomorrow!)
These pockets are made using the same fleece as the rest of the dress/tunic, so they are soft and warm for little hands. The Expansion Pack gives detailed instructions for how to construct these pockets using the front of dress or tunic as part of the pocket itself, which secures them in place and eliminates bulkiness that can happen when working with thick fabrics.
Get your copy of the Autumn Grace and Expansion Pack in my Shop or on Etsy.
Then, head on over to Funky Monkey Fabrics to have a look at this awesome Canadian shop's huge selection of fleece! Use the code POLLYWOGGLES to get 15% off until January 24th.
You'll get to see a lot more of this option in the days to come, and the pockets were definitely a popular choice for testers and it can be added to any of the Expansion Pack variations! Here they are in a tunic length with long sleeves... and isn't this a fabulous fleece print?!
If you missed yesterday's post, revealing the "Totally Trendy Tunic" length, check it out Here.
Watch for more to come all this week!
Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the digital world. When I'm not designing (or, more likely, attempting to keep up with housework or schooling my three rug rats!) you'll probably find me with my nose in a book, escaping for a few precious moments into a world of fiction or learning with single-minded focus about my latest interest. Here, I'd like to share with you some of the things that I'm currently working on and a bit about all the ways I like to keep my creative juices flowing!
Just for Fun...
