UPDATE 2018 - THIS PATTERN HAS BE RE-RELEASED UNDER THE NEW NAME... MUSKOKA! ~~~~~~ It's Day 4 of my Autumn Grace Expansion Pack series and I am really excited about this one!! When I first came up with the idea for Autumn Grace, I wanted it to be the ultimate "cozy" dress. I absolutely love working with fleece, so I knew that was the material I wanted to design it for, and today we take it to a whole new level. I can't think of anything more cozy than a big snuggly fleece cowl! Don't forget to pick up your copy of Autumn Grace and the Expansion Pack while it's on sale this week in my Shop or on Etsy! (And psst... because my prices are in Canadian it may mean extra savings for you!) For 15% off fleece, check out Funky Monkey Fabrics and use the code POLLYWOGGLES until January 24th. I wanted to make this cowl wide and thick enough to really give it some shape and also make sure that it is comfortable for all day wear, so I came up with a design that makes this cowl really special. Fleece doesn't have the same stretch or drape as something thin like jersey, so the cowl has a stability that is similar to wearing a soft chunky scarf. The shape of this cowl rises high and slightly away at the back of the neck, keeping it the fabric from bunching up too heavily and allowing extra fabric to be moved to the front of the neckline. I also show you how to give it a "spiral" effect, making this a truly cozy and stylish addition to your dress or tunic! Did that flower catch your eye? I thought the pink dress was a little too plain, so I whipped up that flower in five minutes and I think it sets it off perfectly! If you want to make one for yourself, I've actually put together a tutorial of five of my favorite kinds of fleece flowers in THIS post, including how to make the one shown here. In case you've missed any of the posts this week, here are the links with the details on them. And don't forget, there's one more option to show you tomorrow! Hi there!Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the digital world. When I'm not designing (or, more likely, attempting to keep up with housework or schooling my three rug rats!) you'll probably find me with my nose in a book, escaping for a few precious moments into a world of fiction or learning with single-minded focus about my latest interest. Here, I'd like to share with you some of the things that I'm currently working on and a bit about all the ways I like to keep my creative juices flowing! Categories
