When the weather turns toward winter, our whole family gets cozy in our fleece housecoats! Whether you might call them robes or dressing gowns or perhaps bathrobes... but they all mean the same thing: comfort. This new update to the Pollywoggles pattern collection, Fundy, is all about being cozy!

Sometimes, it's just a simple change that makes a design feel completely new. That's exactly how I feel about the latest addition to the Pollywoggles Pattern Collection!
It can't be a surprise to many of you that I love woven fabrics. I love the stability and precision. While my heart is easily captured by bright cottons and yarn-dyed linens, there are some things that are just more comfortable and casual when made with a stretchy knit instead. Sleeves, for example. Which brings me to the most exciting new feature of the newly updated Gaspe pattern... a faux-layered knit long sleeve! For our family, summer begins the first time we hit the beach! Near to our home is a beautiful lake with clean water and a sandy bottom, perfect for swimming. The shoreline weaves and curves against rocky outcrops and shallow inlets and calls us to grab our paddles and kayaks to go exploring. My kids have been swimming pretty much since they've been walking. Their love for water also includes pools and water parks, and splash pads are always a hit! Water means PLAY. And with all the many water activities out there, I really wanted to design a swimsuit for those kids that can spend the day at the beach and still ask for more! With that in mind, let me introduce you to Nahanni.
There are some patterns that fuse together the perfect mix of style and simplicity. These are the ones that you can make over and over again and every time you do you say to yourself "this one is my favorite one ever"... until the next one! The pattern that I am showing you today is one of those patterns.
With all the pattern updates I have done so far over the last year, this is one that I have been most anticipating. Originally released in the fall of 2015 and called Alexander Casey, this pattern is re-releasing today with the new name, Malpeque Bay. This update includes completely re-drafted pattern pieces for a slimmer fitting leg, more tailored fit, and a new pocket and shorts length.

Hi there!Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the digital world. When I'm not designing (or, more likely, attempting to keep up with housework or schooling my three rug rats!) you'll probably find me with my nose in a book, escaping for a few precious moments into a world of fiction or learning with single-minded focus about my latest interest. Here, I'd like to share with you some of the things that I'm currently working on and a bit about all the ways I like to keep my creative juices flowing! Categories
