Vintage-Inspiration for Simcoe

One of the most practical patterns in my collection has just gotten better... Simcoe can now be made as a Nightgown!  The original Simcoe pajama pattern features a 2-piece set that combines woven fabric with knit bands and includes long and short options.  This new Add-on to the original, uses the same no-closure design and knit collar and sleeve cuffs, but now features a classic mid-calf length skirt or a vintage 'babydoll' shortie!

One of my favorite things about Simcoe is how simple it is.  It sews up quickly and works for both summer or winter.  Of all the patterns in my collection, Simcoe is the one that I personally have made the most of.  With this new Nightgown Add-on, you now have more options to choose from.  The vintage length is designed to fall just below the buttocks, so it is perfect for pairing with Simcoe shorts or pants.  The simplicity of the design also becomes the perfect canvas for adding embellishments, such as lace trim or appliques.  One of my favorites is a simple ribbon bow!  If that sounds like something you'd like, make sure you take a moment to check out my Tying the Perfect Bow post for a tutorial and video on how to tie little bows to embellish your nightgown!

This is an Add-on to the original Simcoe, which means that you do need the Simcoe pattern in order to make either of the Nightgown options.  If you already own Simcoe, you can purchase just the Add-on, which is ON SALE (but only for a very short time, so don't wait!).

If you don't already own Simcoe, now is the perfect time to get both the original, which features a unisex design suitable for all seasons, AND the new Nightgown Add-on!

Because this pattern is built onto the basic shape of the Simcoe pattern, it has a very roomy fit through the chest for ease in getting arms in and out.

The nightgown option falls to a classic mid-calf length.  The 'vintage' length is wide and loose, reminiscent of the babydoll or shortie style seen in patterns published by McCall, Butterick, or Simplicity in the 1960's & 70's.

The new Simcoe Nightgown Add-on gives makes this pattern a great option for those who love the classics.  There are so many beautiful print options in woven cotton and flannel that now have the perfect pattern to make them shine!

    Hi there!

Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the digital world.  When I'm not designing (or, more likely, attempting to keep up with housework or schooling my three rug rats!) you'll probably find me with my nose in a book, escaping for a few precious moments into a world of fiction or learning with single-minded focus about my latest interest.  Here, I'd like to share with you some of the things that I'm currently working on and a bit about all the ways I like to keep my creative juices flowing!
