Behind the Name...The Avalon Region is a large peninsula at the southern end of Newfoundland. It includes the most Eastern point in all of Canada; looking out over the Atlantic Ocean, there is nothing but sea all the way to Europe. This is a land of rugged coastal beauty, with green and rocky cliffs hugging the shoreline and villages rich in history and culture. |
